KBC Newsletter – 21/5/14

Welcome to this week’s newsletter! Here’s what we’ve been up to this week at KBC.
Kirsty Broun Racing Women’s Development Team – Battle on the Border weekend
Last weekend, the girls competed in the NRS/QSM “Battle on the Border” weekend in the Elite Women’s Division 2 category in four events over three days, an 87km road race, a 9.7km individual time trial, a criterium and finally a rather hilly 45km road race. The girls raced exceptionally well and displayed terrific teamwork and etiquette over these three days. Brooke Sheppeard’s performance in the road race on Day One was a highlight, finishing within 5 minutes of the winning rider as well as Hannah Tohill claiming the first sprint points of the weekend. Katrina Robertson and Wendy Grindley-Ferris worked well together in this race as did Mel Symon and Liz Nelson. Sue Cruikshank had the toughest job of all, being separated from her teammates, but put in a very commendable effort by herself to post a decent time.
Descending Day – 24th May – FULLY BOOKED!
Sunday’s descending day at Mount Mee is fully booked and word is on the street that all riders are looking forward to learning how to fly down that mountain in a safe and controlled manner. If you would like to participate in the next descending day, please send me an email at kirsty@kirstybroun.com so I can put you onto the waiting list.
Women’s Skills and Development Program – Balmoral
KBC’s Women’s Skills and Development program returns to Balmoral (Murrarie Crit Track) this Saturday from 11.30am to 1pm and includes coaching in bike handling skills and group riding, followed by a fitness development component and the opportunity to experience simulated race conditions in a controlled and safe environment.
